One of my best friends is having a baby, and we got to host a shower for her and her hubby last weekend in their new house. They were so nice to let us invade since they had only been moved in for a week!
It was so much fun to catch up with friends from college and to celebrate a future addition to our group.
We had lots of food! What’s a party without food?
[blue mason jar dispenser is from World Market]
I got to use all my blue mason jars! Love them.
I did accidentally buy pink lemonade for a boy’s blue and green themed baby shower…oops!
Veggies and dip for all the healthy people.
And of course cake!
I made the cake toppers myself, using my silhouette machine.
And what’s a baby shower without games?
We had onesies to decorate, and they all turned out so cute!
We had puff paint, brushes, onesies in two different sizes, and cardboard to go between the fabric layers (that way the paint won’t bleed through to the other side). Just make sure you have a table set-up to place the onesies to dry. We ended up lining them up all across the kitchen counters.
The diaper game was fun! People drew pictures on or wrote messages on diapers for the parents-to-be to use during late night diaper changes. (or at least to laugh at before the baby comes)
Then we played a funny game where everyone got an ice cube with a baby frozen inside, and the first person to creatively (by whatever means) get the baby out had to yell “my water broke!”
Not sure which of these two won.
A few babies were not so fortunate.
Then we had some more food. These were the grill masters.
And then it was time for presents!
You’ve got a big family of friends excited to meet you Baby Russ!
