Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That

Homemade Laundry Starch

I hate ironing clothes.  I was about to buy a new iron, because I thought ours didn’t work.  Turns out I needed to use a little starch!  And homemade starch is so easy!

1 cup water + 2 tsp cornstarch

I was shocked by how crisp Den’s shirts were afterwards and I am kicking myself for not trying this sooner.  My life just got so much easier!  Over the last year we have decided that any dress shirt Dennis buys must be “wrinkle free” or “iron free.”  Who wants to iron all the time?  Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Homemade Laundry Starch

Pour the water and cornstarch into a spray bottle.  Shake.  Lightly spray your laundry.  Iron.

See?  Easy!

Homemade Laundry Starch

See how crisp these napkins got!

Add a teaspoon more starch if you need something to be even stiffer.  You can keep the mixture stored in your linen closet.  Just shake the bottle before every use because the cornstarch settles.
